Paris — The City of Love and Light

Paris is one of those cities that exists in the imagination of almost everyone on earth long before they ever set foot there — and the remarkable thing is that the reality somehow manages to live up to the dream. There is a quality to Paris that is almost impossible to put into words, a combination of beauty, culture, history, and atmosphere that creates something entirely unique and unlike anything you will experience in any other city in the world. The Eiffel Tower, seen for the first time in person, is genuinely breathtaking — particularly at night when it sparkles with thousands of lights against the dark Parisian sky. The Louvre, one of the greatest museums in the world, houses a collection so vast and extraordinary that even a full day inside barely scratches the surface — from the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo to thousands of other masterpieces spanning every era of human artistic achievement. The neighborhoods of Paris are each like small villages within the city, each with its own distinct character and charm. Montmartre, perched on a hill above the city, offers winding cobblestone streets, artist studios, and the stunning white dome of the Sacré-Cœur basilica. Saint-Germain-des-Prés is the neighborhood of writers and intellectuals, full of historic cafes where Hemingway and Sartre once sat. And the Marais, with its beautiful medieval architecture and vibrant LGBTQ+ community, is one of the most exciting and diverse neighborhoods in the city. Paris rewards slow travel — the more time you spend simply wandering its streets, sitting in its cafes, and watching its people, the more you fall in love with it.
